Alex contributes to Blue Meridian’s investee selection process, supports individual investee relationships and scaling plan development, and helps assess investee and portfolio-wide performance. Working closely with Managing Directors, he also collaborates on innovative initiatives to expand Blue Meridian’s work, with a focus on Place Matters.
Before joining Blue Meridian, Alex served as an impact investing consultant at Godeke Consulting and Program Associate at the Woodcock Foundation, where he partnered directly with a portfolio of 50+ domestic and international grantees and program related investments working in the areas of community-driven development, systems change, and leadership development. Prior to this, Alex spent five years as Program and Development Director at Blair Grocery and Program Manager at the Twomey Center for Peace Through Justice at Loyola University New Orleans. In these roles, Alex worked directly alongside a broad and diverse range of constituencies and communities across the Gulf South, Northeast, and Midwest, facilitating, implementing, and scaling place-based economic development, participatory democracy, food sovereignty, and youth empowerment initiatives.
Alex is currently Treasurer of the New York Steering Committee for Emerging Practitioners in Philanthropy, a Community Advisor to the Castanea Fellowship, and a network practitioner in the Old Money New Systems Network.
Alex earned a BA in Sociology from Loyola University New Orleans. He is currently completing an MS in Organizational Change Management at the Milano School of International Affairs, Management, and Urban Policy at The New School.
