“Saga Education, a nonprofit, has demonstrated strong results in providing math help to teenagers from low-income families through in-person, small-group tutoring that takes place during the school day.
There are 7,000 students in the program nationwide, but about half are seeing their tutors virtually this year because of staffing difficulties or Covid restrictions on visitors to schools.
Saga receives money from foundations, but is also expecting federal learning-loss money. The cost of the program is $1,800 per student annually.”
